atco Machine & Fab., Inc. was founded by
John R. Kilpatrick in November 1973, as a privately owned machine shop specializing in manufacturing pins, shafts, bushings and various petroleum related machine parts. Mr. Kilpatrick's philosophy was to serve a relatively small customer base with the very best product, at a competitive price, within the time frame required by the customer.

By 1979 Patco established a reputation as a major supplier of offshore jackup rig cylinders, rig skidding jacks, motion compensator cylinders, riser tensioner cylinders, riser tensioner cylinder systems, mud suction valves, dump valves, equalizer valves and other petroleum related equipment components.

The petroleum industry depression in mid 1982 prompted Patco to broaden their product base providing a total customer assistance concept of  Manufacturing, Electro-Hydraulic Systems Control and Services of petroleum and non-petroleum related machinery and equipment of all facets of general industry, utility organizations, land and offshore based industries.

Mr. Kilpatrick's philosophy has proven to be the corner stone of the company's success and along with a broader product base and a dedicated professional organization has contributed to an increased growth in personnel, equipment, and building facilities with an accomplished reputation as a reliable supplier.
